The secret to meeting the challenges presented within each of these areas is not to view them in isolation but to adopt an integrated approach which links them all together within a coherent framework or strategy.

Developing and implementing such a strategy provides schools with a solid infrastructure which will not only facilitate significant short and medium term improvements but will enable these improvements to be sustained well in to the future.

Our Infrastructure For Improvement Consultancy brings a headteacher with acknowledged expertise in interlocking improvement processes to spend two days working with you on your own agenda in your own school. The exact use of the time will of course be a matter for the two of you to decide, but is likely to include

• Time spent with you and other members of your Senior Team understanding your current stage of development and the key challenges you have identified
  
  
• Time spent reviewing the "national agenda" and ensuring that your existing plans address all of the main issues - both those already fully visible and those likely to emerge over the next three years
  
  
• Agreement about which elements of a robust infrastructure for improvement are already in place and those which need to be developed
  
  
• Agreement on areas in which recommendations from the consultant would be welcomed
  
  
• The conduct of any necessary school-based research through meetings with key staff, governors, parents and pupils as appropriate
  
  
• The production of a focused report highlighting what has already been achieved, setting out what still needs to be done and making two or three key recommendations about how this agenda can most effectively be tackled in the school's particular context

The cost of this programme is £2500, plus travel, accommodation and VAT. If required, specialist follow-up support (not necessarily from the same consultant) can be provided to help you develop your practice in the priority areas identified, including
